Formerly owned by Arapaho chief Powder Face (ca. 1830-ca. 1886); transferred to his nephew Cleaver Warden (Southern Arapaho, ca. 1867-ca. 1935, living in Darlington, Oklahoma); purchased from Warden by an unknown party at an unknown date; in the collection of the Philbrook Art Center until 1968 when it was exchanged with MAI.
