I am Choctaw from Battiest, Oklahoma. I studied model wax carving in commercial art school. I am self-taught in beadwork and quillwork.During the 1960's and '70's, while I was working in commercial art I did a variety of paintings with Indians as the subject matter. In order to insure accuracy in my portrayals I began to teach myself beadwork and quillwork. I would make replicas of historic beadwork, dress models in the replicas, and then do paintings of the models. My work is historically accurate.&quot;</font>")

I stay up late at night beading and quilling. The designs I replicate are mostly in the Plains style. Despite the fact that I am not from the Plains I feel the spirits guiding me and encouraging me to continue this work.Recently, I have started to study traditional southeastern designs and have begun to do more work from this area, which is where I am from.&quot;</font>")
