According to Day, the skill of this legendary hunter was vital to
the tribe's survival. On his way home, with a deer slung over
his shoulder, the hunter has paused for a drink. As he bends down
and is about to lay his bow aside to cup some water in his hands,
the pool reflects a ferocious female mountain lion springing toward
him from a nearby ledge. In one bold movement, the hunter draws the
last arrow from the quiver at his side, fits it to the bow, and stops
the lion in midair.
