Waiwái men produce the designs woven in their pakára (double basket) by using scraped and unscraped cane. A slightly smaller box is fitted into its pair to make a cleverly fashioned doubled basket, which is quite strong. Men use pakára to store fragile items used for healing or bodily decoration.
