Zapotec Urn The Zapotec people are from northern Oaxaca in Mexico. They lived
from the 11th to the 13th century and had their own writing system.
The urn is made of carved blackware. They found this urn buried in
a tomb. The urns depicted humans and gods. The urns were sacred. This
urn looks like a person wearing a crown. He is sitting with his legs
crossed. He has earrings on. He has a lion or a bear on his crown.
He's wearing bracelets on his arms, and he has beads on his legs. I
picked him because he's like a statue, is sacred and was used by kings. |
