Comanche Horse and Rider

The Comanche were famous for being skilled horsemen and owned more mounts than any other tribe. This warrior, dressed in buckskin, carries a wooden lance with a bone point. This toy was made for a very young child to play with. The concept of the doll as an object both sacred and secular exists in a fairly wide area. Playing dolls and ritual dolls are clearly differ despite the basic similarities in material and forms.
